Salon of Inclusiveness II

Last year I was happy to participate in Black Cat Artspace's holiday show, Salon of Inclusiveness- and I'm even happier to announce that I'll be in it again this year! Here is a preview of the works that I'll have on display.

The exhibition runs from November 26th- December 31st.
There will be two opening receptions:
November 26th, 7-10:30pm
December 3rd, 7-10:30pm

Wish Her Well

I just realized that I never posted a completed picture of my painting, Wish Her Well, which I finished a couple months ago. Enjoy! xx

Some quick paintings I pumped out this week....I haven't figured out if they're completed yet or not, but I like to keep busy and start as many pieces as I can, and then return to them one by one after having a bit of time to reflect.

Studio update

At the end of September I had the opportunity to move into a wonderful studio space downtown with three other super coooool artists. It's been amazing so far! I figured it was about time to update what I've been working on........ below is a piece that's heavily inspired by my trip to Costa Rica. I thought it would be interesting to share my process with you all! I'm far from finished, but liking it so far!   Pura Vida xx

Canzine Toronto 2015

Since I enjoyed my time at Canzine last year so much, I decided to sign up again this year. It was even more fun and successful! Here's a quick photo re-cap of the event.

Kensington Market Art Fair

In August 2015, I had the pleasure of participating in the Kensington Market Art Fair- here are some photos from the day!

A couple weeks ago I went on an amazing journey through Costa Rica. I had the opportunity to backpack around the country for two weeks on my own and had an amazing time! Costa Rica is absolutely beautiful, and I found so much new inspiration while I was there. Of course, I brought my little sketchbook with me, intending to draw everyday. I drew two times. I'd like to think that I was too distracted by photography to focus on drawing. In any case, I have plenty of new ideas and will (hopefully) be completely some new paintings shortly!! For now, here are the two sketches:

I was missing my time in Italy recently, so I did a landscape to bring back the memories! I hiked around the beautiful hills of Tuscany on my birthday while I was there....it was definitely a memorable day! Also, I've been experimenting with monochromes lately and am happy with the results so far....hope you enjoy!

Montecatini Alto, oil on panel, 2015

Here's another painting I'm working on right now. It's a self portrait holding a potted plant. It's been awhile since I've focussed on painting the figure, but I'm having fun with it. As you can see from the progress shots, an artwork can change many times throughout it's creation! I'm excited to see how this one will end up:

I've been working on a large architectural painting over the last couple of months. It's taking me a long time to complete, so I though I'd document my progress....enjoy! I'll update as soon as I finish!

Places We Could Go

Finally, here are some better photos from my solo show at Ben Navaee Gallery last August:
