Toronto Public Library

Just wanted to take a moment to share a link to the Toronto Public Library blog, as they (specifically, Brent Cehan!) recently mentioned me in a post regarding Canzine! Glad to know that the simple watercolours I did of Gracie the poodle are being enjoyed! Click here to check it out!

Canzine Toronto

Had a great time at Canzine Toronto yesterday! Met a lot of awesome people and got some helpful feedback. I've definitely been inspired to continue making zines and hope to start bookbinding in the near future...

Canzine Update

In two weeks I'll be participating in Canzine Toronto, which hosts an amazing array of independent and underground print media. I'm very excited for this event, and have been working away (somewhat) diligently. Here's a little process shot of what I've been working on:

(what you're looking at are 3 zines in my scrambled photoshop...)

For more information on Canzine Toronto, plese visit their website here.
The event is held on November 1st, from 1-7pm, at 918 Bathurst Centre in Toronto.
Hope to see some familiar faces!

Solo Show at Ben Navaee Gallery

I'm very excited to announce that I am currently having a solo exhibition at Ben Navaee Gallery in Toronto, Ontario. The show, entitled Places We Could Go, is largely inspired from my travels. Posted below is the exhibition statement, and some installation photos.

"'Places We Could Go' explores the link between reality and that imagined by its conceiver. After living in Florence, Italy for a year, I was charmed by the monuments of past lives. I documented everything, from the grand cathedrals to simple street corners. As such, I have been impacted by my surroundings and am drawn to both Renaissance and Contemporary architecture. Specifically, this body of work focuses on the juxtaposition of reality and memory, and how the places we inhabit influence our experiences. Rather than representing an entirely realistic memory, an illusion is created in my work to awaken a more playful, imaginative scene through the use of bright colours and brushstrokes. I aim to convey the illusion of space through a varied use of line, geometric shapes and organic forms."

The show runs from August 7-13th, 2014.

Salon Show at Project Gallery

A couple weeks ago I was honoured to be included in an eclectic Salon Show at Project Gallery. I had three pieces in the show and had a lovely time at the opening reception. Here are some photos below, taken from the Project Gallery's Faebook page:
(I did not take any of these photos)
