A couple weeks ago I went on an amazing journey through Costa Rica. I had the opportunity to backpack around the country for two weeks on my own and had an amazing time! Costa Rica is absolutely beautiful, and I found so much new inspiration while I was there. Of course, I brought my little sketchbook with me, intending to draw everyday. I drew two times. I'd like to think that I was too distracted by photography to focus on drawing. In any case, I have plenty of new ideas and will (hopefully) be completely some new paintings shortly!! For now, here are the two sketches:

I was missing my time in Italy recently, so I did a landscape to bring back the memories! I hiked around the beautiful hills of Tuscany on my birthday while I was there....it was definitely a memorable day! Also, I've been experimenting with monochromes lately and am happy with the results so far....hope you enjoy!

Here's another painting I'm working on right now. It's a self portrait holding a potted plant. It's been awhile since I've focussed on painting the figure, but I'm having fun with it. As you can see from the progress shots, an artwork can change many times throughout it's creation! I'm excited to see how this one will end up:

I've been working on a large architectural painting over the last couple of months. It's taking me a long time to complete, so I though I'd document my progress....enjoy! I'll update as soon as I finish!

Finally, here are some better photos from my solo show at Ben Navaee Gallery last August:
